I am asking my counsellor tomorrow as I am excited about doing it. I will be eternally grateful. Thanks Cathy [ Edited Mon Oct 27 2008, 03:55PM ] Diet Chef weight loss Image: http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wLvjpDx/weight.png I lost 1 stone 8 in seven weeks on my LL refresher (had 2 bad weekends and also antibiotics). Before starting DC I had a little over a week off and regained my Glycogen so I actually lost 1stone of fat with LL.

| Guest | Cathy, that\s quite a lot of information as you get given a massive book with all that information in it, but to put it simply: Weeks 1 - protein only day 1 and 2 (chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, cottage cheese, egg whites, quorn tofu) and raw green salad introduced from day 3. 3 food packs a day and 1 protein meal. Week 2 - food from week 1 plus sugar free jelly, low fat dairy products and fat-free dips. 3 food packs and 1 protein meal. Week 3 - food from weeks 1&2 plus fruit and tomatoes, some additional protein and some fat-free sauces. 2 food packs and 1 protein meal. Week 4 - food from weeks 1-3 plus additional fruit and veg, which you can now cook. 2 food packs and 1 protein meal. Week 5 - food from weeks 1-4 plus alcohol, starchy veg, olives and fat free soup. 2 food packs and 2 meals. Week 6 - food from weeks 1-5 plus further fruit choices (including dried fruit), seeds and nuts for cooking, marmite. 2 food packs and 2 meals. Week 7 - food from weeks 1-6 plus pulses. 2 food packs and 2 meals. These are your baseline foods. Weeks 8-12 introduce trigger foods. Week 8 - food from weeks 1-7 plus pasta, noodles, potatoes, couscous. 2 food packs and 2 meals. Week 9 - baseline foods plus grains and cereals, plus any food from week 8 that you didn't have any problems with. 1 food pack and 3 meals. Week 10 - baseline foods plus cheese, plus any food from week 8 that you didn't have any problems with. 1 food pack and 3 meals. Week 11 - baseline foods plus bread, plus any food from week 8 that you didn't have any problems with. 1 food pack and 3 meals. Week 12 - baseline foods plus trigger snacks e.g. chocolate, crisps, nust, sweets, jam, plus any food from week 8 that you didn't have any problems with. 1 food pack and 3 meals. | ||

As I won't be drinking as soon as it is allowed but it is my friends wedding in June and I would like to have a drink there but am worried about what the wrong stuff is. I hate champagne so I won't be drinking that plus it is pure sugar anyway! Any thoughts? | Guest | Cathy - there is actually a table in the RTM book which tells you how many calories are in a glass of each type of alcoholic drink (a lot basically). It's on the week 5 pages, which is the week that you can have some forms of alcohol (mostly spirity, champage, red wine and dry white wine, as well as sherry and liquers for cooking only). I think the lowest cals is gin and slimline tonic, but they also recommend doing things like making a white wine spritzer, and interspersing each drink with a large glass of water to keep you hydrated and so you drink less. Or doubling up your low-cal mixer so that your drink is longer and there is less of the alcohol in it. Personally I haven't missed alcohol at all and I do not think I will be reintroducing it back into my diet in any major way. I'm quite happy with my soda water. Given that I had totally gone off milky tea, I'm not sure if I would even like it any more!

I haven't missed alcohol but I am going to carribean and my fave drink over there is rum and pineapple juice. Yum! I won't be drinking that much anyway. I can happily eat a dinner now without rice, potatoes or pasta, but I do really enjoy them the couple of times a week that I chose to have them. Prior to LL I couldn't have contemplated a day without bread, but these days I only have it once or twice a week. As for alcohol, I thought I was verging on alcoholism by the end of last year. It felt like a day didn't go by without a glass of wine in my hand (or a bottle!), and I have discovered that wine is a trigger for me and makes me want to pick an nibble all evening. It also gives me an upset tummy now, as if my system just can't handle it very well any more. So its everything in moderation now, but the mainstay of my diet is the foods from weeks 1 - 8 too. Bea, you have given a brilliant account of RTM! cupcake LL Jan 2008 FOUNDATION: Total Loss 2 stone 11lbs RTM: Total Loss 5lbs (2lbs under target) Management since May 08 - Maintained weight well till about Oct, when it began to creep up. 10lbs up by Christmas, and 21lbs up by Easter. I've just started in development, but I'm going on holiday in about 5 weeks and would like to be on about week 3 of RTM by then. Image: http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wRwAupH/weight.png
