I finished the programme in October and perfectly maintained my weight until April of this year when I split up with my partner, was made redundant and had other family problems I thought I could cope after every thing I've learnt but I didn't I turned to food and was eating junk I'm back with my partner and have a new job but I still can't stop eating I'm trying to get back into the diet for a couple of months (at home) as iv'e put on a bit (more than) and its make me unhappy as my new clothes aren't fitting now.

I can't stand looking in the mirror and have stopped enjoying going out. I don't know what to do to get off this destructive path.

Has any one got any suggestions?

Total weight loss with LighterLife 5stone 5lbs

I am now going it alone!

well done for maintaining as long as you did. Its hard not to turn to old habits in times of stress.
Acknowledging there is a problem is the first step. Taking decisive action to rectify it before it gets any worse is the 2nd step.
If you are ready to do this, then you need to decide. Do you need to return to abstinence, or can you cope with the boundaries of a healthy eating plan ie SW or WW.

I've ended up back in abstinence, having never got to goal, I gave up on LL and regained 2/3 of what I originally lost. I got all the books to do SW but couldn't stick to it.

Good luck whatever you decide to do, keep us posted, you know you will get plenty of support on here
xx

Danielle, you have done so well on the diet and maintaining, i totally agree with Ali, you know what your doing wrong and you have learnt new skills via LL to beable to deal with them....

You need to focus and be strong just as much and maybe more when you first started LL...

You know you can do it and the pictures show that.....

Get back into your old eating habbits no picking on food or the odd sneaky peice behind closed doors and the weight will soon start coming off again.....

if you cheat, your only cheating your self!

Good Luck sweet we all know that you can do it, keep us posted xx

Danielle big hugs hun.
Hope you're doing better now. If not LL how about something like slimfast to help get your head focused on shedding the lb's.

Take care and I hope you turn it around soon.

Dear D...what Ali said.
I'm glad to see you on here btw.
Maintenance is about learning when to pull it in and you are doing just that.

((((you))))!!! I feel your pain, I really do.

Similar story for me... did well, maintained for about a year then yo-yo'ed for about 6months. or rather I should say have been yo-yoing! argh! those 6-14lbs make such a difference to how i feel. its hard stuff and Im so very much hoping that doodle is right and that this is just my version of maintenance... learning to hold weight is taking me a little longer than others and involving some ups and downs (almost entirely linked to stressful events now i think abou it) but Im hoping that each time I learn a new lesson that next time I wont repeat... here's hoping!

hope you're doing better lady!

Hello
I've also gone a bit (about 9lbs above where I'm happy with) and I've tried to lose it by myself but I don't seem to be able to manage it. So I've decided to join WW and am going to my first meeting tomorrow evening. I did WW years ago and lost 2st (a drop in the ocean back then). This time I want to drop 1st and it will take me back to the bottom of my half stone window which is where I want to be. I've realised that the last few months have been a steep learning curve and that old habits are very easy to fall back into. Stress and tiredness are my eating triggers and I need to learn to cope with them in other ways.
I'm hoping that a structure and regular weigh in's will help me suceed where I couldn't by myself. I found the times of the maintenence meetings for LL were difficult for me to get to and so I hadn't got the discipline of a regular weigh in to motivate me.
I thought about going back on packs but apart from not being able to afford it I want a more practical and discreet way to maintain my weight that I can do with out having to compromise my lifestyle.
So that's me then, I know how you feel and I hope you can find a way to get yourself back on track hon.
take care
cx

Hi all, hoping you are feeling more in control D xxx

Caz, you have just described me to a T.

I am finding maintenance a total struggle. I panic and then get worse. I am low GI-ing as from today because I get pretty horrible low blood sugar symptoms and perhaps if I can control them, I will feel better.

Continued good luck to you all you lovelies.
