| Hello - I'm a 44 year old from Essex who has struggled with excess weight since my late twenties. Recurrent back problems and chronic cystitis has led me to LL after trying everything else. IT WORKED!!! I lost 3 stone in 3 months and was a happy size 12. Although I wasn't a skinny rake, I decided to stop as I looked fine and my health was great. I did RTM and managed my weight for 6 months but a stressful period in my life from June to December 08 meant that i put back on 2 stone. So, I'm back doing refreshers course and am again looking to the forum for support! Good luck to everyone! All the best. Angelstea xxx |
According to a study from Oxford University published in the International Journal of Obesity, within 3 to 5 years, about 80 percent of all 'losers' have regained the lbs, and often gained back a little extra.
According to research by the US National WeightControl Registry, that
relapse rate may be as high as 95 percent.
For comparison, relapse rates for drug, alcohol and tobacco dependency have be...

Hey blog - started nibbling in week 2 - I got away with ity in week 1 you see, so thought it wold be OK. I even stiuck to protein but only lost 1lb and had knocked myself out of ketosis. I had this problem last time - I just couldn't settle into the routine of no food. I gave myself a good talking to and we shall see. Still 8lbs in total but imagine what it could have been if I had stuck with ...

Hello Blog
Here we are again. So pleased that the site is still here and I can read the previous stuff I wrote. Looking at the few blog posts over the past 2 years, has been something of a revelation - I had forgotten some of the things I said in the past and how hard it was. Last year in refreshers, I just couldn't do the packs again - I found it so hard to get back into abstinence and I was so...

Well blog, have been mucking about something terrible over the past 2 weeks - abstaining, lapsing, abstaining, more lapsing. Have gone back to basics - what are my goals for the next week, month, 3 months. Goal for this week is to stay in abstinence for more than 3 days! I just climb the wall only to slip back and have to do it all again. I obviously have something important to learn from this...

Hey blog - thanks to contributors for comments - support much appreciated!
Well i have been fat burning but a sudden bereavement meant I had the wobbles for the last 2 weeks. It's so hard to get back into the zone when you lapse. Still I've had a good talking to myself and back on track now. I've lost 10lbs so am delighted! Wish I'd come back sooner! Good luck to everyone this week! Love AT

Hi Blog
Having finally faced the scales after Christmas, I decided I had really left it too long and called up my LL counsellor. She gave me such a warm welcome, I wondered why I had left it so long. 2 stone up omg. I hadn't realised it was that much. All of a sudden I started popping out of my bras and jeans.

Hi blog - This is certainly a voyage of self discovery; I now realise that I am an addict, a food addict. I've joked about it in the past but it's a reality. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't do drugs but I do every type of food! Weight loss has been 3lbs a week for past 2 weeks adn I know it would have been more if I could only stop the picking....

Haven't been on the site for a while because I think you must be fed up of me saying how ill I feel! Well despite falling off the wagon - and finding it incredibly difficult to get back on - I have managed to lose another 2 lbs this week.
I suffer from chronic cystitis and knew that by stopping drinking cranberry juice by the gallon, I wold get another infection. Since being on LL I have been u...

This has been a tough week. Bearing in mind that I have hada rough ride, that is saying something. Emotional hunger was overpowering. Having the live yoghurt for thrush in my throat was the beginning of mega cravings. Bread was the main culprit and I know it was because of the yeast cells dying off and screaming for more sugar....! Still, I lost 2 lbs but found out that I'm no longer in keto...

Don't you just love watching the foodpacks go down as you go through the week, knowing that you have got through another week! After a shaky weekend, I was delighted to lose another 5lbs. That's 17lbs in 3 weeks guys! What other diet would give you results like that? I can't fail to be happy.
I'm not finding this too easy, especially at the weekends. It's easier at work where I am naturally mor...

Weekends are definitely a bad time for me food wise. Husband was great and cooked for himself and the kids but I flipped out when my teenage son wouldn't eat what had been made. I SO wanted to eat it myself and had to put it in the bin - I really HATE that!! I have to remember that it is his choice as well - so I will try to be more reasonable next time. We made a deal for next time that he te...

Unbelievable. Have been very 'wobbly' this week, shall I give it up, Ok just one more day. So glad a stuck it out as I lost another 6lbs - 12lbs in 2 weeks! OMG! The thing is, I still don't don't feel "well". I have the nausea less now but it comes back consistently and makes me feel really low. i had hoped it would be over by now! still, I can't complain about the weight loss and people are...

Well somehow I managed to get through the first week. I am the only one in my group that has suffered from nausea - everyone else is buzzing! I'm really glad I stuck with it coz i lost 6 lbs, not as much as some people but, I think I had to work the hardest for it!!!
I found some recipes on what to do with the shakes and I know that this has helped me to have a muffin instead of a shake for examp...

Class was Thursday and afterwards, I had a blow out Indian....I know, I know.
Friday (day 1) on the plan was OK but by evening the nausea had started. I didn't like the vanilla shalke and it took me about 4 hours to finish it! Family are really supportive.
Saturday was not so good as I had to find a takeaway meal for my fussy veggie daughter - standing in food queues in town with cakes and smells ...
